After we were dropped off from our wine tour, the girls and I decided to tour the walled town, Monteriggioni. This little walled town was very small. It couldn't have been bigger than a couple of blocks. It had several restaurants and some shops, like shoes and purses. You could walk along the walls and get another spectacular views of Tuscany. (edit: 2/16/08 - added video below)
It was getting close to sunset and Ed'Veeje and I watched the sun go down from the western wall, while Raquel watched it alone from another wall. I think she wanted to be alone for personal reasons, which of course I will not go into here.
It was a beautiful sunset. Then we met up with Raquel and decided to eat at one of the restaurants. We were getting hungry and decided not to wait for some of the nicer places to open at 7:30, but ended up eating at 7:00. the food was okay and the wine was pretty good. The candle lit setting, with the soft lights of the buildings around us was a beautiful setting. I would've taken a picture, but I was just to tired and didn't want to bug the girls with yet, another picture. Above is a picture I took earlier in Monteriggioni. You can get an idea of the size, plus the link I included above.
After dinner, we headed back to the villa for a good night sleep. Thursday would be Florence again.
