Monday, October 8, 2007 - Afternoon

After Colle d'Val Elsa, we returned our little villa, but first stopping off at a little grocery store, and I mean little. We bought some some items to cook dinner with later that night. We hung out at the villa and enjoyed our place until about 4:00, when we headed off to San Gimignano. It was another walled town sitting high on a hill, and we could see it from our villa in the distance - 11 kilometers.

We ended up visiting many of these little walled city towns and the I think Ed'Veeje and Raquel enjoyed each one. Having been to Italy 7 times, they told me they had not experienced the things we all did that week.

In San Gimignano, we did some shopping. The girls went in many stores. I went into my fair share of stores. I ended up buying two nice wines. We had a late little something to eat at one the eaterys there at the Piazza in the center of town. We stayed until after dark. Ed'Veeje got a big carrying bag she said she had been looking for, for the last couple of years in Italy. They also bought a very pretty table cloth. I liked it so well, I thought I had to have one too, though mine was a different color, but the same pattern. I noticed it has a wine stain already on it and I love it. It will be perfect for a picnic.

Later that night, Ed'Veeje was kind enough to read my manuscript. We sat in the living room while Raquel retired early. Ed'Veeje and I stayed up talking as she read and commenting on my manuscript. Afterwards, we stayed up discussing religion and I enjoyed sharing my views with her so much, even though we had different opinions. I respect the Ed'Veeje and Raquel's belief and what they say to me does carry a lot of wait.
