I awoke early and looked out at a most beautiful view. It was like every post card you ever seen. The girls slept in until 11 am - I guess they were very tired - lol.

I ended up spending a lot of time by myself, as none of the family seem to be up and about; at least not until around 9:30. Ludmilla made me some espresso. I told her not water it down, buy she did - lol We had a good conversation and got to know each other. Her English was very good. I showed her on the map of Italy where our small little Villa was and the things we would be doing. She was really excited for us and wanted to go. I know she was just kidding.

Finally, the girls woke up and and we hung out until they served lunch outside (see pic above). Again, it was a perfect setting. Again, we drank plenty of table wine, ate bread, and enjoyed good company. Later in the afternoon, we visited a little farm across the valley. It was good to get a view of where we were staying from a different angle (see video below- the first view is from the farm).

That night we had another great meal. Ludmilla ended up having a bad migraine and couldn't eat dinner with us. Her father roasted chestnuts over an open fire after Raquel and Ed'Veeje helped split the chestnuts open. Both had blisters on their hands the rest of the week. They were using dull knives and I was hoping they wouldn't cut themselves.

We stayed up late talking to Ludmilla's husband. Great conversations. His English was not as good as his wifes', but we all managed to understand each other pretty good. Everyone else went to bed and it was just us four. We had some great Port, which he and I drank quite a bit - lol video
